JOB PURPOSE
As a Central Demand Planner for the EMEA ANZ Region at Stanley Black & Decker, you will be responsible for ensuring that the 36-month rolling forecast accurately aligns with regional growth objectives. The Central Demand Planner will play a key role in creating and maintaining baseline forecasts, acting as the primary liaison between cluster operations and business unit management to support best-in-class Sales & Operations (S&OP) processes. You will challenge and reach a consensus with promotional demand planner to maximize forecast accuracy and provide long term demand visibility to Supply Team.
The Job (responsibilities):
Forecast Management
- Maintain the integrity of the forecasting system to improve forecast accuracy. Ensure system consistently reflects rolling 36 Months demand forecast.
- Use analytical tools and skills to support EMEA ANZ markets with the best possible demand model and take responsibility for baseline forecast planning.
- Perform history maintenance as well as market analysis and determine customer demands and business trends at multiple levels of aggregation.
- Continuously analyze market trends, historical data, and other factors to refine baseline forecasts.
- Be responsible for long-term demand outlook to correctly reflect the growth of the EMEA ANZ markets.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work with Cluster Operations and promotional demand planners on building the complete demand outlook for EMEA ANZ markets including NPI, run rate, discontinuations.
- Closely collaborate with Customer Fulfilment Leaders and pro-actively challenge and build S&OP consensus.
- Work closely with business units to gather insights and information that contribute to accurate baseline forecasting.
- Build and proactively maintain relationships with other supply chain colleagues across the region.
S&OP Collaboration
- Act as the main link between cluster operations and business Unit Management to facilitate effective S&OP processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and operational plans.
Product Discontinuance
- Action market phase-outs and actively support process of product discontinuance, SKU rationalization and E&O reduction.
Continuous Improvement
- Seek opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy and long-term visibility.
- Drive optimal forecast accuracy, build and sense check baseline forecasts and perform root cause analysis of demand issues and provide permanent resolution.
- Align and support all supply chain initiatives and lean culture projects.
Performance Metrics

The Person (requirements):
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent (Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field is an advantage.)
- Experience in Planning and/or Forecasting.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills - essential to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
- Strong English - written and verbal.
- Experience in extracting and segmenting data to facilitate data analysis.
- Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills and methodical thinking (data analysis and process driven).
- Excel - advanced use: use of filters, v-lookups, pivot tables, creating complex calculations with nested functions, etc.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Pro-actively seek for solutions.
- Self-reliant, hands-on approach.
- Able to take independent action and works autonomously.
- Knowledge of ERP systems / experience with JDA/SAP would be an advantage.
