Who are we hiring? 

The Senior Accountant Financial Reporting is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements for Sphere Entertainment Co. to be included in the Company’s quarterly filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”)  This role ensures the integrity of balance sheets, income statements, applicable financial statement analysis and other supporting documentation pertaining to management, annual audit, SEC and other reports.

What will you do?

  • Works with the Manager of Financial Reporting in developing the financial components of all SEC filings.
  • Review, analyze, and consolidate financial packages submitted by business units to ensure that consolidated results are accurate prior to being included in MSG’s external reporting.
  • Prepares consolidated financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Shareholders Equity, and Statement of Comprehensive Income for inclusion in the Company’s periodic filings with the SEC on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet analytics.
  • Prepares certain footnote disclosures in our SEC filings on a quarterly basis such as stock-based compensation.
  • Evaluates and identifies areas of potential exposure and internal control weaknesses.
  • Works with both internal and external auditors in providing them with required information dealing with the SEC filings.
  • Ensure adequate support for all financial information included in our SEC filings and our earnings releases.
  • Assist in preparation of the Company’s XBRL files for the 10-Q’s and 10-K.
  • Strict adherence to the timelines established for external reporting requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

  • BS or BA in Accounting/Finance, or related discipline, CPA license preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in both public and private sectors.
  • SEC reporting experience required.
  • Previous exposure to financial statements, account analyses, and reconciliations
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience using Oracle Financial Systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and possess knowledge of automated environments.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
  • Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.
  • Ability to work independently to trouble shoot, problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.

Pay Range
$75,000$100,000 USD
