Responsibilities:

Assists Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. The Pharmacy Tech II demonstrates proficiency to practice in two (2) or more specific pharmacy function areas (production/distribution, oncology, inventory management, narcotics, nursery, surgery, compounding and home care/outpatient). Provides patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. 

Qualifications:
REQUIRED
  1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia
  2. Experience as a:
    • Pharmacy Technician I for a minimum of one (1) year at Northside Hospital OR
    • Pharmacy student with an Intern License issued by the State Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of one year of pharmacy experience OR Technician hired from outside the Northside System with one year of pharmacy related experience.
  3. Non-certified technicians will have one year from the date of employment to successfully complete a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam recognized by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy and certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
    • In lieu of certification, Pharmacy students with Georgia Board of Pharmacy Intern License with a minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy experience.
