Job Title: Servicing Engineer
Salary: £62,874 - £69,860
Location: Chester
Hours: Full-time
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our Chester Office.
This role provides 24*7 responsibility for service availability and will join an on-call rota.(Typically 1 week in 4)

What you’ll do
As an Engineer for the Platform, you’ll love using data and technology to find innovative solutions to problems, work with wider technical and business teams to drive out cost and waste.
You’ll work in an agile multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues in the delivery of change.
Work closely with other Software Engineers and Quality Engineers, as well as Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers.
Maintain a focus on reducing risk and building confidence in the team and its stakeholders by focussing on the prevention of incidents occurring, rather than just incident detection and resolution.
Deliver outcomes by working collaboratively with others and working within established systems.
Investigate issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues and barriers to service excellence.
Analyse specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.
Builds, develops and supports LBGs systems and services whilst continually challenging the status quo for even better system availability.
Ensuring appropriate technical prioritisation, whilst also contributing to the strategic direction. Includes responsibility for supplier and risk management.
What you’ll need
Experience of working in a Run Engineering role or similar
Hands-on experience of Windows and Linux system administration
Scripting experience using python, groovy, bash or powershell to help triage or resolve problems
Experience of using a variety of infrastructure and application monitoring tools to support infrastructure across the route-to-live
Strong experience of developing / supporting front-end and back-end applications
Experience of developing and using monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace and being able to interrogate data from tools like ServiceNow and PowerBI.
Strong problem-solving skills, leading live support with incident management issues as and when needed, providing clear communication and managing key senior stakeholders.
Strong technical skills based around technologies like Cloud, IBM Websphere, Oracle, SQL Server, Java, Splunk and Dynatrace.
