Job description

About Basetwo

We’re on a mission to make manufacturing faster, smarter, and more resilient.

Basetwo is a fast growing Toronto-based startup backed by Boeing and some of the top VCs in the Boston, Toronto, and Bay Area ecosystems. Our platform is a cloud-based SaaS that enables manufacturing engineers to rapidly design, build and operationalize “digital twins” in order to optimize their production processes. Using Basetwo, engineers can rapidly simulate critical manufacturing equipment in order to understand behavior, improve KPIs, and mitigate operational failures.

The Role

As the Product Manager, you will be responsible for working directly with the Founding team to build and lead a product driven organization from the ground up. This involves driving Basetwo’s product experience, making it a simple, intuitive, and beautiful platform capable of handling very complex manufacturing workflows. This role involves collaborating closely with our Engineering and leadership teams to define and execute on the Basetwo product roadmap.

What You’ll Do
  • Understand Basetwo users (i.e. process engineers) at a deep level -- what’s important to them, what are their constraints and challenges, their expectations with respect to AI technology, why they love Basetwo, and what they wish we could do better
  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for Basetwo's AI platform
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, science, and design teams to translate the product vision into actionable functional requirements
  • Prioritize features and functionality based on business objectives and user feedback
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch
  • Conduct market research and analyze customer needs to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to refine go-to-market campaigns and strategies
  • Analyze product performance metrics and user data to drive continuous improvement
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in AI, manufacturing technology, and process optimization

Requirements

What You’ll Need
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in manufacturing technology sectors, and Enterprise AI/SaaS applications
  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, simulation, and their applications in the B2B enterprise world (preferably manufacturing or industrial environments)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex technical products
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related field; or advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience in or knowledge/familiarity of the chemical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing industries
  • Knowledge of industrial databases and control systems (e.g., OSI PI)
  • Understanding of energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction in manufacturing processes
