About Learn to Discern India II
The Learn to Discern India (L2D-India II) Empowering Media Savvy Youth project aims to support healthier, more resilient information engagement among diverse Indian communities. This initiative enhances digital media literacy skills among Indian youth, including graduates of the Learn to Discern India Academy (L2D-IA) and university students, as well as media creators and social media influencers. The project fosters critical thinking and leverages the influence of master trainers to promote impactful awareness campaigns, ultimately empowering informed, resilient information consumers.

About the Role
Learn to Discern (L2D) India (L2D-India-II) is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to oversee the development and implementation of robust assessment methodologies and provide detailed data analysis for our youth training programs. This role will support the project in tracking program effectiveness and ensuring the success of our Youth Trainers and their community-led initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Data Collection Instruments: Ensure data integrity and validity at both output and outcome levels.
  • Analyze Data: Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in quantitative data sets.
  • Maintain Databases: Create and manage structured databases for effective data organization.
  • Track Progress: Systematically collect and analyze data to monitor progress toward key performance indicators.
  • Support Reporting: Assist program staff in preparing analysis reports, summaries, and visualizations for stakeholders.
  • Impact Assessment: Analyze M&E data to measure the impact of program activities and progress toward goals.
  • Other Duties: Provide additional M&E support as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, social sciences, mathematics, or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis
  • Professional experience using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in various quantitative data sets.
  • Professional experience cleaning and coding extensive quantitative data sets.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, mixed method) and data collection and analysis methodologies are required.
  • Desired experience: supporting the execution of MEL activities on international development projects.
  • Desired experience in creating online survey forms in MS Forms, Alchemer or similar.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of analytical software and data visualization tools. Knowledge of SPSS will be a plus.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail.
  • Strong written command of English language
  • Ability to read and comprehend written English.
