The Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Manager of Resident Screening to lead our resident screening team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our screening processes for potential tenants are efficient, compliant, and effective in identifying suitable residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in property management, and a commitment to upholding high standards of customer service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor a team of resident screening specialists, providing guidance and support.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set individual goals, and promote professional development.
    • Foster a collaborative, positive team culture focused on excellence and accountability.
  • Screening Process Management:
    • Oversee the resident screening process, including background checks, credit checks, and rental history verification.
    • Develop, implement, and optimize screening policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
    • Ensure the team meets or exceeds service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Monitor the quality and accuracy of screening results, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular audits of screening activities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Development:
    • Design and deliver training programs for new team members and ongoing training for existing staff.
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to enhance the screening process.
  • Data Management:
    • Utilize screening software and tools to track screening activities and analyze performance metrics.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all screening activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 of experience in resident screening, property management, or a related field preferred,  with at least 3 in a supervisory role.
    • Strong understanding of tenant screening processes, Fair Housing laws, and compliance regulations.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in screening software and data management tools
