About this role:
Nulo is looking for a passionate Copywriter to join the company’s team in Austin, TX. This person will be primarily responsible for ensuring a clear brand message that is consistent with Nulo’s identity as a leader in the premium pet food industry. To be successful as a copywriter, you should be prepared to work with our team to consistently produce brand-consistent messaging and formulate copy-forward strategies to increase brand awareness. A top-notch copywriter should analyze data related to audience responses and adjust copy to maintain brand identity and increase brand visibility. The Copywriter reports to the Director, Creative Services, based out of our Austin, TX headquarters.

What You’ll Do: 
  • Write excellent, target market-relevant copy for all platforms
  • Adjust writing style, within brand guidelines, based on relevant audiences (e.g. consumer, trade)
  • Translate complex concepts into clear copy in advertising, on packaging, point of sale materials, promotional materials, website content, and other relevant platforms
  • Provide input into appropriate images or videos to complement the text; also write compelling copy to fit with compelling imagery
  • Improve and adjust copy based on internal feedback and consumer responses
  • Produce consistent, SEO-friendly, blog and website copy based on a thorough awareness/understanding of search functionlity
  • Support in-house creative development; conceive of copy for new campaign concepts, including scripting ad spots and developing compelling consumer calls to action
  • Support social media captioning work
  • Convert marketing ideas into a hashtag, blog, or longer post across various social media networks
 
Who You Are (Preferred requirements): 
  • 3-5 years of copywriting experience
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience with SEO
  • Strong research skills
  • Creativity
  • Collaborative spirit
  • Strong listening skills and ability to interpret feedback
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Quick learner and resourceful; able to prioritize effectively 
  • High level of ownership, accountability, initiative and drive 
  • Proactive, with a very strong attention to detail, and a creative approach to problem-solving 
  • BS/BA in marketing, English, journalism, or related field preferred
  • A love for – and understanding of – all things pets!
