Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and record keeping activities. This position requires the utmost attention to detail, timeliness, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and customer service while adhering to the standards set by the Company. The Senior Accountant should possess a deep understanding of accounting principles, a proven record of advising clients on business and tax matters, and a passion for excellence. In this role, you'll collaborate with our team, begin to mentor Staff Accountants, and lead special projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Prepares and posts or upload journal entries into the accounting system. Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
- Maintains fixed assets and depreciation/amortization schedules in Intacct.
- Reconciles accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Reviews and approves expenses in Concur.
- Reviews income and expense accounts for proper classification.
- Prepares financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements and submits financial package for review and approval.
- Prepares work papers, schedules, and reports for owners, lenders, and tax preparers as needed.
- Develops and maintains documentation of processes and procedures.
- Works with team members to assist with budget creation.
- Assists with monthly and annual maintenance of various accounting systems and templates.
- Serves as a resource and a trainer for accounting matters as needed.
- Works with the team to automate processes and will be responsible for the implementation of various company-wide initiatives.
- Serves as a backup to other accounting and purchasing positions as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting finance is preferred, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years progressive accounting experience with a full double entry bookkeeping system or fully integrated ERP.
- Demonstrable broad US GAAP knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good communication skills using spoken and written words.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to organize workload to determine priority of duties
- Ability to read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
- Highly developed sense of urgency.
- Strong system skills and proven business improvement skills.
- Must be able to handle stress in a healthy and professional manner.
- Has an ability to learn new technologies as necessary.
- History of working within cable or telecommunications industry a plus
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, and background check
