The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will serve the Diagnostic Imaging global supply chain management to drive quality activities with suppliers, setting a high standard and fast response expectation so quality issues are prevented or minimized. Lead with best practices to enable our organization to provide high quality medical products to our customers. The role will manage activities related to purchased part qualification with suppliers, supplier quality issue resolution and ensuring appropriate incoming material inspection strategies.

You are responsible for

  • Responsible for achieving a state of high-quality performance at our Supplier partners through the application and practice of Advanced Product Quality Planning ‘APQP’ during the industrialization of Philips products/parts within the New Product Introduction ‘NPI’ process.
  • Accountable for making Additions/Changes/Deletion to Approved Supplier List. 
  • Negotiate Supplier Quality Agreement 
  • Analysis of defects for determining if supplier caused and then notified. 
  • Drive for the reduction of cost of non-quality regarding supplier caused non-conformance.
  • Supplier Corrective Action Independent Reviewer 
  • APQP plan development, execution, monitoring and control as part of Sustaining Changes. 
  • Supplier performance monitoring, reporting, improvement and development. 
  • Accountable for Supplier quality risk assessment and mitigation. 
  • Support Supplier audit schedule development, execution and maintenance. 
  • Assess and coordinate Supplier Change Requests.
  • Applies technical and soft skills as a seasoned professional. 
  • Interacts often with other internal functions and external partners at a level up. 
  • Provides detailed guidance to others periodically. 
  • Focus of influence primarily within own function.

You are a part of

  • SQE team to support PD supplier transfers and localization in Asia. Lead supplier localization and qualification efforts along with driving 100% APQP.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 3-7 or more years of proven design supplier quality engineering experience 
  • Knowledge of ISO13485/9001/FDA
  • Familiar with electrical parts will be plus.
  • Experience supporting global projects
  • Statistical Methods/MSA/Acceptance Sampling
  • Process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Risk management (FMEA)
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems and working in a regulated industry
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point, and Word required
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills required
