The Technical Sales Specialist – Flooring Adhesives, Grouts and Mortars owns a territory and takes initiative to fix challenges within area of responsibility. Proven ability in trouble shooting, running demos, training of customers and sales force, identifying new trends, being proactive in suggesting new products to fill product range gaps, helping to launch new products and services, and managing the conversion of business with customers.
Territory – Ontario, Calgary, and Edmonton Canada

Primary Responsibilities
Manage, maintain and grow own territory and accountable for delivering results.
Effectively creates and use of a Territory plan as well as customer budget and goal setting.
Develop a strong understanding of client needs and provide solutions and opportunities.
Creates advantage through deep understanding of customer needs and accelerates sales process by selecting the right opportunities.
Negotiate complex situations within and outside the organization.
Develop sales funnel for future growth opportunities, and accountable for both growth and erosion prevention metrics.
Knowledgeable on company, customer, and competitive supply chains; with medium complexity can help optimize customer value chain models.
Plan a key role in innovation, both in identifying opportunities in the market and communicating them into the H.B. Fuller organization and working with strategic firms and engineers that can specify H.B. Fuller branded products.
Managing distribution activities to support growth in the core business.
Identifying and developing relationships with key contractors
Creating a strong pull-through strategy with contractors to exceed sales and profit targets.
Works on projects/area as a whole & makes steady progress on tasks within project.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the area of responsibility.
Works directly in parallel with peers. Follows processes and procedures with good judgement. Determines and develops approach to solutions.
Self-directed learning process and ability to know when to ask for help and assistance.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma and at least 7 years of relevant work experience OR Associates or technical degree in related area of study and at least 5 years of relevant work experience OR Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related area of study & at least 3 years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience and success in technical sales or technical background.
Ability to travel up to 60%.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Understanding of business acumen in partnership with customers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Flexible, open-minded, organized, and tenacious and good team player
MS Office experience
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree.
Flooring industry experience
Understanding of Technical Specifications and construction engineering experience
Customer related technical work or similar.
Understanding of “value selling” techniques and how to quantify value.
Leadership potential and desire for more responsibility
Excel experience
