Job Description:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the business through the accurate recording of revenue transactions in accordance with US GAAP. This person will have the overall responsibility for initial analysis and documentation of sales contracts in accordance with the Company’s policy and authoritative guidance. You will have the opportunity to work with cross functional teams to identify potential revenue impacting deal structures and contract terms, present alternatives to internal teams and document findings in line with company policies.
Here is what the successful candidate can expect in the first year of service:
30 days: Cross training on daily deal review process and contract reviews, dual preparation of deal review sheets with co-preparer for additional review. Getting acquainted with the New Deals Team and cross functional teams.
90 days: Full ownership of daily deal preparation. Begin ownership of simple month-end close tasks and co-preparer for complex tasks.
One year: Full ownership of daily deal preparation with minor review notes on simple deals. Additionally, initial preparer on more complex deal reviews. Full ownership of simple month end-close items transitioned from the team and co-preparer on complex tasks. Input on quarterly and annual audit selection support pulls and other ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer contracts for new and add-on license and/or SaaS sales by completing deal analysis sheet:
Perform initial review of sales contracts
Document contract key data points
Highlight contract points for additional review in accordance with company policy and authoritative accounting guidance
Follow-up with Contracts, Sales, and Professional Service Teams on any open items related to deal completion
Familiarity with ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
Assist with monitoring and tracking qualitative deal information used for analysis under accounting revenue guidance
Prepare and oversee monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and related reporting within stated timelines
Assist in the documentation, creation, and maintenance of internal policies, procedures, and controls
Assist with SOX compliance for Revenue related items
Key contact with external auditors to provide support and documentation for quarterly reviews and annual audits
Assist Finance Team with any transactional questions as requested
Work cross-functionally and within the revenue team, creating a positive working environment, and investing in others to help them grow
Perform other duties and projects related to role as assigned
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
3-5 years of progressive experience - preferably Big 4 accounting firm experience and/or public companies with multiple, complex revenue streams in a software environment
Excellent organization skills and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple, competing tasks simultaneously
Knowledge of ASC 606, especially under multiple performance obligations and software revenue recognition
Experience with an Accounting ERP system, experience with NetSuite preferred
Excellent communications and documentation skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships within and across departments
Strong Excel skills and computer skills required
Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation preferred
Strong analytical skills and leadership qualities

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$73,500 - $105,000 - $136,500
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
