Job Description

At MicroStrategy, we are pioneers in Bitcoin adoption, and this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our Bitcoin strategy. If you’re passionate about Bitcoin and want to lead the charge in advancing Bitcoin’s adoption within the enterprise world, we want to hear from you. 

The Manager of Bitcoin Advocacy will play a key role in advancing MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin development and advocacy initiatives. This individual will lead the planning and execution of our annual Bitcoin conference, lead internal and external bitcoin education initiatives for corporate adoption, and drive overall advocacy efforts to strengthen the company’s leadership in the Bitcoin community. They will work cross-functionally to leverage partnerships and contribute to innovative marketing campaigns. They will also help to set up a DC-based hub for bitcoin community interactions. We are looking for a passionate individual to join our Bitcoin team and spearhead our efforts in event management, education, and advocacy. 

Key Responsibilities (may include but not limited to): 

  • Lead Annual Conference: Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of MicroStrategy’s annual Bitcoin for Corporations conference, ensuring its growth and positioning as a premier industry event. Lead the outreach and coordination with speakers and sponsors. Manage the event promotion activities to ensure targeted outreach to corporate finance executives.  
  • Bitcoin for Corporations Advocacy and Partnerships: Serve as a key advocate for Bitcoin for Corporations to the broader corporate finance executives. Work with external partners, industry leaders, influencers, and policy/regulatory bodies to educate and enable other corporations to adopt bitcoin as a part of their corporate treasury balance sheets.  
  • Bitcoin Hub: Spearhead the setting up of a bitcoin hub in DC at MicroStrategy office to enable collaboration, offer shared co-working space, arrange BitDevs (bitcoin developer meetups), corporate seminars on bitcoin education, and student initiatives to drive bitcoin awareness at university campuses.    
  • Internal Bitcoin Education: Collaborate with internal teams to provide employees with education, tools, and resources to promote a deeper understanding of Bitcoin and its applications in the enterprise space. 
  • Marketing Strategies: Develop and execute marketing strategies for Bitcoin-related initiatives, including content creation, campaigns, and digital marketing to promote awareness and adoption of Bitcoin both internally and externally. 
  • Finance Activities: Support bitcoin related finance activities including Investor Relations, new vendors evaluation and onboarding, bitcoin market research, and supporting bitcoin analytics and modeling.  
  • Please note - this position requires the employee to work four days a week in the Tysons Corner, VA office and we will be able to offer relocation assistance to help you transition smoothly to your new role and location. 

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in event management, advocacy, marketing, or related fields, preferably with a focus on bitcoin, technology, or financial services. 
  • Strong understanding of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency landscape. 
  • Strong network within the Bitcoin and blockchain communities. 
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale conferences or industry events. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally to develop and execute various bitcoin initiatives. 
  • Passion for Bitcoin and a desire to drive its adoption.
