Financial Analyst
This is a Contract Role located in Boston, MA


About this Position
Join a dynamic team at a prestigious institution as a Financial Analyst I, focusing on payroll analysis with a specialization in Student Payroll data. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to delve into data auditing, reconciliation, and compliance, contributing to efficient and accurate payroll processes that impact thousands of individuals annually.

Job Responsibilities

  • Payroll Data Management:
    • Investigate, audit, and reconcile master data for Student Payroll.
    • Develop and refine standard reports, processes, and metrics for decision-making.
  • Data Integration & Analysis:
    • Evaluate data extracts and support integration with new systems, including BUWorks and Student Employment.
    • Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to address and resolve student data issues.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
    • Scrutinize master data to mitigate risks of fines and penalties from federal regulations.
    • Ensure accurate taxation and withholdings for student payments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Communicate with and advise managers as needed on payroll-related issues.
    • Collaborate across departments to streamline processes and enhance accuracy.
  • Special Projects:
    • Act as a key team member in system evaluations and enhancements.
    • Provide insights to improve payroll operations and ensure compliance.

Job Skills/Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Experience in payroll, accounting, or finance with a focus on data analysis and compliance.
    • Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Advanced Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail.
