Position: Interpreter Trainer and Skills Assessor
Department: Public Sector
Reports to: UK Quality & Development Manager

Main Job Purpose
To arrange and conduct the testing segments of the recruitment process for all UK based over-the-phone interpreters. Responsible for conducting engaging training sessions, evaluating the progress of learners through systematic testing and assessment methods in a timely manner. The role requires a blend of linguistic expertise, educational skills, and the ability to evaluate language proficiency effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in linguistics, training, and language assessment, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Specific Tasks
- Conduct interpreting skills assessments (ISA) via telephone/ MS Teams and provide feedback to both candidates and the Recruitment team.
- Liaise with candidates and relevant language assessors to arrange ISA’s and book them in
- Record all data relating to assessments on tracking spreadsheets
- Ensure communication is sent to candidates and assessors confirming the relevant information
- Schedule New Hire Orientation (NHO) training for onboarded candidates, making sure they are enrolled to the web training in timely manner and monitor their progress
- Deliver interactive and effective all-day instructor led training sessions (ILS) to complete NHO
- Provide support to candidates during NHO to ensure high, within the deadlines completion rate
- Provide timely update to other teams on candidates training progress, issues or any additional training needs
- Assist with any other training & administrative projects and needs, and ad hoc tasks as requested by the management team.
- Analyse feedback and liaise with colleagues to evaluate training content to identify areas of improvement
- Support US team with organization and completion of additional trainings (compliance, CMS).
- Produce monthly reports on both testing and training
- To take personal responsibility for ensuring that personal information is used fairly and lawfully within GDPR guidelines, report any personal data security incidents immediately and abide by the Information Security Policy detailed in the Staff Handbook.
- To assist with any other ad-hoc duties that may be required by the department.

The following range of experience, knowledge and skills are required:
Essential:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in linguistics’ related field
- Computer proficiency with advanced experience in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong administrative experience
- Interpreting knowledge and experience
- Experience in coaching, training and presenting

- Being able to build rapport with people from all backgrounds

Desirable:
