Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Technologist, housed in the Department of Psychiatry, will be responsible for executing research activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). The position involves implementing research protocols, recruiting participants, maintaining databases, and managing human subject approvals. The ideal candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes staff, faculty, and students.
A key aspect of the role involves local and in-state travel (rare overnight stays) and flexibility in working hours to accommodate project and participant needs, including nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a science related field plus two (2) years of experience in research laboratory testing and analysis required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite at a high level of proficiency is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with incarcerated individuals.
- Must be able to drive for in-state travel.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of human subjects’ behavioral research. Experience conducting research with vulnerable populations in the area of traumatic stress ( i.e., incarcerated persons, people with PTSD) is also desirable.
- Previous experience working with persons living with mental illness in a professional capacity. Proficiency with online survey software (REDCap, Qualtrics).
