Job description

Assistant Shift Managers are employed to direct Cage department staff in performing their daily duties while ensuring consistent internal and external guest service. The individual in this role also assists with scheduling, payroll, corrective action, departmental training, and shift coverage.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of any designated shift (s) in the cage department areas.
  • Responsible for assisting the Cage and Credit Manager with daily responsibilities. Will step in as department point of contact in the Cage and Credit Manager's absence.
  • Assists with creating effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs.
  • Reviewing and approving the department's payroll. Addresses payroll issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Assists on the budget process for the department and provides recommendations. Reports any budgeting concerns to the Manager.
  • Ensures guest service standards are followed by all associates and addresses issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for ongoing training of Cage department personnel including staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for departmental recognition programs to maximize associate engagement.
  • Enforces internal control policies and procedures.
  • Assists in providing leadership to assigned staff, ensuring effective internal and external communications, exercising appropriate judgment and decision-making skills, and ensuring that all departmental activities are monitored and conducted efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensures that all company money is reconciled and accounted for daily.
  • Knowledgeable of all cage-related transactions and can provide support for any problems. Must have full understand of Cage operations, including but not limited to transactions, deposits, markers, front money, and safekeeping activities, cage reports, main bank activities, and self-exclusion/exclusion searching.
  • Understands TRM and ATM systems, including assessing cash levels, preparing the funds needed for the replenishment, and performing the drop and fill processes in the absence of the count room staff.
  • Authorizes and issues complimentary services to patrons following the approved Complimentary Matrix internal control section 465a.7.
  • Ensures all company standard operating procedures, gaming regulations, federal regulations (Title 31 compliance) are followed.
  • Working knowledge of all cage related computer applications, included but not limited to Oasis and Ultipro.
  • Works with Host and provides information regarding status and concerns of VIP Players.
  • Ensures assigned staff is aware of, understands, and complies with regulatory requirements and enforces regulatory standards through discipline when necessary.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Any other assigned duties and responsibilities.

DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF EXPERIENCE OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Working Cage and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates, managers, business partners, and patrons.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and as business needs dictate.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification.
  • Must complete all the necessary company training.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and willing and able to obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming License.
