Job description

The Risk Management & Compliance (RM&C) Lead will be responsible for risk, compliance and control guidance around compliance quality monitoring activities, remediation plans, and reporting. The RM&C Lead will drive accountability, transparency and strategy for their assigned scope. In addition, this role sits on the tower and/or site Leadership Teams and drives risk and compliance priorities in operations, transformation and organization culture, supporting the GBS Site and Tower Leads and senior leadership team.   

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Within the GBS tower and site, develop and maintain a strong and practical risk awareness, compliance, and control culture and environment through partnership with GBS Site Leadership, Divisional Controller and Business Finance
  • Provide routine reporting and risk analysis to GBS leadership
  • Develop plans to operationalize compliance transformation assessments, policy implementation, monitoring activities, etc. utilizing optimal resource allocation to meet required timelines and quality standards
  • For tower and site, provide guidance and consultation in collaboration across business and compliance stakeholders to ensure process, technology, people and policy changes are assessed for control impacts and appropriate actions are completed
  • Drive simplification and standardization of processes and controls; with emphasis on adoption of global processes where possible
  • Provide expertise and guidance to business process owners in the development, execution, and documentation of remedial actions for any deficiencies in ICOFR/ SOX or controls design, operating effectiveness, or process enhancements, and Corporate Audits; drive and consider global standardization for changes resulting from deficiencies
  • Lead gap analysis and remediation of gaps in internal controls and accounting practices in connection with business integrations arising from business acquisitions or other transformation activities
  • Drive escalation protocols related to material accounting adjustments or internal control issues that arise within the GBS towers or markets
  • Drive the execution of analytical reviews used to identify and investigate red flags in the areas of ICOFR and T&E, which may include the identification of Key Risk Indicators ("KRIs”); ensure resolution of all items identified
  • Lead and drive accountably within compliance and control projects as appropriate
  • Set global priorities for proactive risk reviews for critical processes that are complex, manual, new, interdependent on reporting outside of Pfizer, or that have had issues in the past and ensure identified reviews are completed appropriately
  • Partner with GBS and Market stakeholders in planning for efficient internal and external audits of in scope activities, and in closing remediations
  • Foster a culture of compliance awareness, ownership, accountability and transparency across the tower and GBS sites
  • Coach and support RM&C colleague development and engagement
  • Support Pfizer Blueprint and GBS Strategy, Changing Lives, Together; Global Reward and Recognition programs; Driving operational excellence through Pfizer Purpose, Values and Behaviors

REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7 years of working experience in a risk management/ control environment, including experience with risk identification, measurement and assessment, risk monitoring, reporting and escalation
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university
  • CPA required or other equivalent education/ certification (e.g. Chartered Accountant)
  • Experience working in multi-national companies in a Risk Assurance Leadership, Controller, Compliance and/ or Audit role with focus on ICFR, SOX and other compliance disciplines
  • Experience navigating a large, complex organization and managing stakeholders’ interests using a matrixed organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior Pfizer experience
  • Big 4 public accounting experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $105,500.00 to $175,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
