About the Role 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented paralegal to join LexisNexis to help contribute towards the development of Irish practical guidance across a range of practice areas, namely Dispute Resolution, Property, Banking & Finance, Financial Services Regulation, Commercial, Corporate law, Employment and Construction for Lexis+ UK, LexisNexis UK's online practical guidance and research product for lawyers and legal professionals. There are two main components of the LexisNexis offering which this role will contribute to:

  • Core content in Practical Guidance—Practical Guidance provides legal practical guidance and market insight which a busy front-line practitioner can read and digest quickly and easily. It is presented in a range of different content types including Practice Notes, precedents, checklists and flowcharts.

  • Current awareness service—via our current awareness service, we provide legal updates and analysis to our core online products, Lexis+ UK. We cover legal and regulatory stories and provide insight into how they could impact lawyers and their clients. Information is published online and sent to customers via a range of different email alerts.

Responsibilities 

Core Content:

  • Collaborate with Practical Guidance and Content Acquisition teams.

  • Review new and existing content for quality and legal accuracy.

  • Monitor developments and maintain trackers for consultations, cases, and dates.

  • Draft practical guidance content (e.g., practice notes, precedents, checklists, news, and Q&As).

  • Work with external authors and manage content-related communications.

  • Participate in Panel of Expert meetings and liaise with panel members.

Current Awareness:

  • Ensure news items are high-quality, accurate, and well-edited.

  • Apply taxonomy to news items consistently.

  • Proofread content before publication, address publishing issues, and recommend process improvements.

  • Support initiatives to enhance the current awareness offering of LexisNexis.

  • Effective Communication: Convey knowledge clearly and succinctly in plain English for online content.

  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and resources, prioritize tasks, and maintain focus.

  • Team Contribution: Actively support the success of the PSL Hub, Practical Guidance teams, and overall practice area objectives.

  • Collaboration & Influence: Work cooperatively with others, build trust, and diplomatically influence positive change.

  • Continuous Learning: Take responsibility for personal development and apply new knowledge on the job.

Requirements:

  • Law degree or equivalent (PPC/GDL/LPC/BTC).

  • Passion for a career in the specified practice areas.

  • Understanding of legal issues, procedures, and content types.

  • Experience in a legal environment (e.g., private practice, in-house, or at the Bar) working within Irish Law (desirable).

  • Research experience supporting legal practitioners in Irish Law (desirable).

  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Clear, succinct writing style adaptable to LexisNexis house style.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and high standards.

  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to use social media and new technology.

  • Creativity and ability to spot opportunities.

  • Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
