Role Summary
If you possess a passion for outstanding product leadership and embrace the challenge of solving complex customer problems with a sharp product approach and driving transformation in the market, this position is for you!
 
You will lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a core part of Splunk’s data acquisition capabilities, focusing on the market-leading and enterprise-grade Agentry and Ingestion protocols for Splunk. This includes our Universal Forwarders, Heavyweight Forwarders, and crucial ingestion protocols (open standards and proprietary) used by thousands of customers, ingesting petabytes of data daily.
 
Splunk is leading a significant transformation in the industry's data management space, and our data processing on the edge is at the forefront of these innovation initiatives. You will take the lead in driving this transformation in the market, product portfolio, and team.
 
Success will be measured by your ability to envision the future, communicate the vision to all the stakeholders, influence them, and energize the team to bring the vision to life as part of our overall Data Management strategy. You will seamlessly integrate into our innovative culture and contribute to our excellent record for delivering market-leading solutions. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
  • You will become familiar with Splunk’s core products and practices, get to know your direct teams and partners, and establish solid cross-functional relationships with our teams and beyond.
  • You will be able to shape our strategic direction and strategy and define a vision for our onward evolution in terms of your product vision and strategy, aligning with Splunk Platform and Data Management strategy.
  • You will help guide and support the team with a strong product direction through these ground-breaking changes to implement and deliver the product vision to the market.
  • You will work closely with our product design, field, and go-to-market teams to drive adoption and constantly capture product insights with them. you'll get to do
To be successful in the role, the candidate should be:
  • Comfortable with ambiguous or rapidly evolving markets and technology while bringing clarity of direction to the team.
  • Take on a lead role in product innovation by working closely with engineering, architecture, and product design - while demonstrating excellent partner management with other teams within Splunk.
  • Experienced in strong Product Management practices and processes and a consistent track record of delivering scalable, high-performance, market-leading software
  • Comfortable picking up sophisticated technical concepts in enterprise software and trends for enterprise-scale, distributed systems.
  • Excited to inspire change and look for better ways to do things.

This role is a Senior Product Manager who will report to the Senior Director of Product Management as part of the Data Management team, in our Splunk Platform Product group. Where is the team located?
The teams you will work in and with are primarily based across the USA and Canada, with some integration areas with our teams based in Krakow, Poland.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
