Job description

Network Engineer II
Contract-to-hire position
No sponsorship
Must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth area
Primarily remote role (occasional onsite meetings)


Duties/Responsibilities
:
Will be involved with design, configurind and deploying network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems) for an enterprise environment. Will be tasked with network maintenance and troubleshooting. Will implement/support security management for firewalls, VPNs and Intrusion detection/prevention. ensure high availability and solid performance of critical network components. Will improve/optimize network performance, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate with various IT teams and business stakeholders for network solutions.

Required Skills:

-6+ years Network Engineering; must have experience working in a complex, enterprise level environment
-Strong experience with SD-WAN technologies (Meraki, Versa, etc.)
-Must have strong networking protocols experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, and BGP
-Proficient with packet capture tools (WireShark)
-Experience with network monitoring/management tools such as SolarWinds
-Experience with WLAN technologies such as Flex Connect, Wifi 6, 802.11x, etc.
-Strong understanding of network security principles and practices; Palo Alto firewalls experience is a plus.
-Strong knowledge with multi-factor authentication and authorization processes/protocols (TACACS+, Radius, LDAP, AD)
-Solid grasp of industry best practices, compliance and procedures (SOX, PCI)
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solver!

Education:

-Bachelor's degree preferred
