Job Description:
The TDP Trainer will increase productivity, competency and employment retention through the implementation of the Technician Development Program. The TDP Trainer will track and monitor each team's progress, assisting in training, accountability and coaching.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assess in person each trainees progress using appsheet software and share with Mentor, GM, and MM
Review and organize level end welding certifications, pictures to document skills, I-CAR class completions and submit for review and approval to TDP Training Supervisor.
Complete bi-monthly store update calls/progress review with trainee, mentor, GM, and MM
Communicates and maintains Technical Training team to establish hands on training and welding certifications according to the TDP curriculum and timelines.
Manages the rollout of TDP to new markets with visits and communication to potential mentors, trainees, GMs and MMs.
Performs Mentor Workshops and other training events
Organizes, sets expectations and acquires trainee skill photos, I-CAR log, assessment reports and all TDP team associated information in an organized manner to share with operations and training teams.
Assists in the continued development and improvement of all program documentation, training, communication, processes materials.
Performs market training events to grow the TDP that include potential mentors, GMs and MMs
Works with TDP School Liaisons when instructed to promote TDP/Gerber and/or discuss with school groups
Education and/or Experience Required
High School Diploma/GED preferred
Preferred experience with Google platform
Preferred as SPS05 structural welding certification
Preferred I-CAR qualified technician and past mentoring experience
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Collision repair experience
Maintain a good rapport with all supervisors and co-workers.
Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
When received, wear TDP provided apparel each day while working.
Present a friendly, pleasant, accommodating, cheerful, courteous, helpful, outgoing disposition toward fellow employees at all times.
Promote a positive spirit of teamwork within the company.
Maintain a well groomed appearance.
Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times.
Other Requirements
Ensure that all needed equipment is operating
Perform all work while being dressed in appropriate PPE
Maintain a clean and safe working area
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Requires clear close vision
Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
Ability to effectively communicate with others
Should be able to read and understand a work order
