The Educational Technology Specialist will report to the LMS Administrator to support and integrate instructional technologies for teaching and learning. The position will work with the LTI Integrations and edtech functions necessary for South College's continued success and growth. This position is full-time remote.


Responsibilities:

  • Work within the Canvas LMS to support the college’s integration standards. This includes features such as SSO, APIs, and LTI to facilitate connections with other edtech tools.
  • Provide regular maintenance and system audits to support the platform's continued health. 
  • Perform audits to assess LMS performance and track compliance with integration standards. 
  • Work with the IT department to ensure the Canvas LMS is optimized and upgraded to fit evolving growth.
  • Collaborate with vendors and college administration to implement Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integrations.  
  • Utilize and interpret data visualization tools toward continuous improvement.  
  • Implement and manage application integrations between different systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, and system administrators, to implement and optimize business applications.
  • Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of applications.
  • Research, analyze, and communicate trends in e-learning, remote learning, and instructional technology tools.
  • Utilize excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to solve computing problems. 
  • Effectively and professionally provide technical assistance to faculty, students, and staff. 
  • Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; customer service oriented and be able to work in a team environment. 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. 
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree 
  • Three years of experience with Canvas LMS Technology Integrations. 
  • Proficiency in widely used programming languages and Web frameworks, such as JavaScript, HTML, JSON, CSS, XML, Python, SQL, REST APIs.
