SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst IV will assist the operational business units by performing data analysis and identifying trends that will allow the business to improve business performance. This position will also be responsible for the consistency and integrity of data reported. This position works with all levels of management to determine reporting analysis requirements. Communicates improvement opportunities or analysis directly to business unit leaders by drawing observations and making actionable recommendations to address operational challenges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Independently clarifies reporting needs with clients to understand the scope of request, utilizes systems to create and deliver analysis and actionable insights to meet internal/external client’s needs
• Audits and analyzes data to verify quality, data integrity, and reporting functionality; researches and troubleshoots technical issues or data anomalies
• Proactively creates efficiencies in data gathering, integration, and analysis
• Meets end-user deadlines for high-complexity ad hoc reports and other requested information and provides suggestions and recommendations to perform the necessary analytics to ensure requests are complete and accurate
• Serves as subject matter expert for multiple service lines, owns related processes, and leads projects with cross-functional impact
• Maintains proper documentation of all reports
• Learns new technologies and systems to advance knowledge of reporting and analysis
• Serves as an internal resource and provides information and training as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 4 year college degree in applicable related field
• 4-6 years of data analytics and reporting experience
• Healthcare experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

• Proficient (advanced skill level) with desktop applications such as Microsoft Office (VBA is a plus)
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and ETL processes
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL Server, Microsoft Access, IBM DB2, Google Big Query or similar
• Intermediate to advanced experience with Business Intelligence software such as: Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy, or similar required
• Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS, Alteryx, or similar require
• Experience with data science programming languages such as Python, R , Scala, or similar is a plus
