Job description

For one of our best clients, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SAP Supply Chain Management & Procurement Data Management Business Analyst to join our S/4 Hana ERP business and digital transformation program. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective data management across all the solutions in the scope of the program which besides the S/4 HANA ERP itself, includes SAP master data governance, data migration and data quality monitoring tools as well as ensuring appropriate data risk management across the entire data lifecycle.

The successful candidate will work closely with business (business process owners and data domain owners) and IT stakeholders to define, implement, and maintain data governance standards, policies, rules and procedures, supporting the organization's data strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Role: SAP Supply Chain Management & Procurement Data Management Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • Data Model Governance
    • Develop and implement data model governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, integrity, and quality of data within SAP ERP systems and data management platforms.
    • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define data modeling standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management - Procurement stakeholders to uncover data requirements required to support business processes and decision-making
    • Analyze business processes to facilitate the identification of involved data objects, data elements definitions, data flows, critical data elements, data quality rules, reference data, data classification and field usage.
  • Review and approve changes to data models within the SAP Supply Chain Management & Procurement environment, ensuring compliance with governance policies and alignment with business requirements.
  • Maintain "best in class" data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and other documentation related to SAP Supply Chain Management & Procurement data models.
  • Conduct regular audits of data models to identify and resolve discrepancies or meta data quality issues and secure maximum metadata quality
  • Support and guide IT stakeholders in implementing the data model in the ERP as well as across all of the data management tools in scope: MDG, data migration tools, data quality rules, data access management,…

  • Data Migration Governance:
    • Develop and enforce data migration governance processes to ensure the successful migration of Supply Chain Management & Procurement data into SAP systems.
    • Work with project teams to define data migration strategies, tools, scope, timelines, and quality assurance measures.
    • Ensure alignment of data migration strategies with business objectives and data governance strategy
    • Support data migration activities coordination across teams, facilitate problem-solving and collaboration, ensure compliance with data migration policies and minimize risks.
    • Secure validation of data migration results and data reconciliation to confirm the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
    • Support on identification and resolution of data migration issues in a timely manner, escalating risks as necessary.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for data model governance and data migration governance activities.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings with business stakeholders to gather data requirements, provide updates, and resolve issues related to data management.
    • Work closely with IT teams, business users, and external vendors to ensure data governance policies are integrated into system implementations and upgrades.
    • Educate and train staff on data governance practices, standards, and the importance of data integrity.

  • Data Quality Management:
    • Assist and animate definition and implementation of data quality metrics, monitoring tools, and dashboards to track data quality across SAP systems.
    • Identify data quality issues, root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve data accuracy and consistency.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by driving enhancements to data governance processes and tools.

  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure data governance practices comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Monitor and report on data governance risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP Supply Chain, sourcing and procurement (MM) full cycle implementations and support
  • Strong knowledge of SAP MM modules and their business processes and data structures.
  • Desirable certification in SAP Supply Chain Management & Procurement (MM) or equivalent job experience
  • Experience in SAP implementations with a focus on data model, data migration, data quality and cleansing.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., SAP Data Services, SAP MDG, SAP Information Steward, Synity data migration, Collibra, Informatica data catalog or similar) and data quality management principles.
  • Desirable certification in data management frameworks DCAM or DAMA
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.

  • Contract: Freelance/Contractor (with Huxley)
  • Location: Barcelona (remote working)
  • Duration: Start ASAP. Long project, from 4 to 5 years. But the contract will be renovated every 3 months.
