Senior Software Engineer – Broker/Dealer
Overview
This position works closely with our senior technical leads to translate business requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed business application code. This includes the analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information systems and to resolve most efficient and cost-effective approach to meet business requirements. Projects utilize a variety of hardware and software technologies and may include new code construction, modifications to existing modules, and/or package implementation. You Will:
- Create detailed technical documentation based on formal business and functional requirements
- Develops/modifies programs and/or customizes applications to meet Guardian business needs including unit testing to ensure quality code is delivered to software testers.
- Creates ad-hoc queries to support business requests
- Perform analysis of applications, feeds, API’s, reports, etc in order to troubleshoot issues or make recommendations for enhancements
- Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed applications
You Have:
- Understanding various project development methodologies including Agile and waterfall and overall SDLC Process.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software development framework and related development environments
- Experienced with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and higher. Familiar with CTE and New features available in SQL Server 2016 and above.
- Proficient in developing and implementing procedures and functions. Ability to performance tune the queries.
- Experience in understanding complex data models and designing quality database solutions.
- Experience in data analysis and research.
- Experience in reviewing, interpreting, and implementing according to the business requirements
- Experience in Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading ETL between systems, file formats, using various SQL tools like SSIS.
- Experience in SSIS package Deployment methodology.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SSIS packages.
- Familiar with Object-Oriented concepts and Design Patterns.
- Hands on experience of OO Development methodology in n-tiered Client/Server and Web based environments
- Programming languages – C# (.net core and Entity Framework).
- Other - Knowledge of XML, XSLT, ADO.NET, Tibco Topic/Queue
- Experience working with Third Party Vendor Systems!
Nice to have Technical Expertise
- Solid Understanding with REST API’s).
- Knowledge of AWS technologies,. CI/CD pipeline, bitbucket, SNS/SQS Queue
- Knowledge of React, redux, other Javascript frameworks like Angular, ASP.NET MVC, JQuery
Domain Knowledge (Preferred, a big plus.)
- Familiar with broker/dealer and securities processing.
- Familiar with industry standard feeds such as DTCC/DAZL/DST.
- Familiar with clearing firms and data aggregators such as Pershing/Albridge.
Location & Travel:
- Two days a week at a Guardian Location in Holmdel, NJ OR New York, NY
Salary Range
$93,080.00 - $152,915.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
