Position Summary

 

We are seeking a qualified Land Acquisition Specialist to join our team. In this position you will play a key role in underwriting and supporting the purchase of large properties for Richmond American Homes. Additionally, you will help ensure our business plan objectives are achieved by understanding the dynamics of Washington and Oregon residential development, and helping the Company buy and develop more land. The Land Department is fast-paced, with a deadline- and results-oriented culture.

 

Responsibilities

  • Complete competitive market analyses including community features and home finish levels.
  • Build market intelligence through published research and industry news
  • Complete financial modeling for new land acquisitions
  • Obtain and analyze due diligence materials for project feasibility
  • Research jurisdictional development and building requirements
  • Review and understand a range of transaction-related documents including Improvement, Development, and Purchase Agreements
  • Review and confirm Title and other due diligence vendors' work
  • Draft acquisition memoranda with a variety of analytic and reporting requirements, under strict deadline
  • Track future acquisition opportunities with the Land Department's support
  • Create presentations to graphically represent market data and product comparisons.
  • Assist other internal stakeholders with land use related research.

 

Requirements

  • A college degree is required, with strong preference given to candidates with Finance and/or Legal backgrounds.
  • Candidates with residential Land Acquisition and/or Development experience in the Washington and Oregon markets are highly preferred.
  • Candidates must have excellent MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Candidates should also have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidates who are internally driven to outperform their peers in the industry are highly preferred and will be rewarded accordingly.
