Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer in Laboratory Informatics, you will be the primary technical contact supporting customers with on-site software and network installations, maintenance, and repairs in laboratory environments. You will ensure the optimal performance of Agilent’s informatics solutions, advise on configurations and preventive maintenance, and provide training on OpenLab software and data management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain OpenLab informatics software, including databases, networking, and virtualized operating systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal software performance and customer satisfaction.

  • Advise customers on data integrity practices, data backup, and repository migration.

  • Provide training to customers and colleagues on OpenLab software in client-server configurations.

  • Act as the main technical point of contact for internal and external informatics project stakeholders.

  • Ensure the technical success of projects through proactive consulting and support.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, with in-depth knowledge of informatics.

  • 4+ years of relevant experience, including work with laboratory data management in analytical, pharmaceutical, or biopharmaceutical settings.

  • Strong expertise in Windows OS, Oracle, SQL, Networking, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS); Citrix experience preferred.

  • Proficient in database backup and restoration.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Fluency in English.
