Company Overview:
Clutter, a leading smart storage and moving company, now part of Iron Mountain, provides innovative storage solutions with seamless, tech-enabled services. As we scale and explore new opportunities, we aim to build meaningful partnerships that both help us reach new customers and also offer new services to existing and prospective customers. We are looking for a Director of Partnerships to drive this mission forward.
Role Overview:
As the Director of Partnerships, you will play a crucial role in driving Clutter's growth by establishing and nurturing strategic relationships with partners. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals with various partners in two primary categories: affiliate/marketing partnerships and service partnership extensions. Your efforts will be pivotal in expanding our reach and enhancing our service offerings.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Partnership Development: Identify and evaluate potential affiliate/marketing partners, such as apartment building management companies and colleges/universities. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations.
Negotiation and Deal Closure: Lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and agreements with partners. Develop and present compelling partnership proposals to prospective partners.
Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align partnership strategies with company goals. Ensure effective communication and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging partnership opportunities and trends in the self-storage industry. Analyze competitor partnerships and industry standards to inform strategic decisions.
Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor the performance of partnerships and assess the impact on business growth. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on partnership progress and outcomes.
Service Partnership Development: Explore and establish service partnership extensions, such as collaborations with logistics companies (e.g., Uber) to enhance service offerings. Evaluate new service partnerships to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Evolution into Leadership: As the partnership function grows, this role will transition into a people leadership position. The Director will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and leading a team focused on partnerships and strategic alliances.
Qualifications:
5-7+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or B2B marketing, ideally within retail, e-commerce, logistics, or consumer services.
Proven success in building strategic partnerships with big-box retailers, brands, or adjacent industries.
Strong understanding of B2B marketing channels and collaboration strategies.
Ability to negotiate, influence, and build lasting relationships with senior stakeholders.
Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills to assess partnership ROI and identify growth opportunities.
Leadership experience or potential, with an interest in growing and leading a team over time.
Excellent communication skills to articulate value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in partnership marketing or co-branding campaigns.
Familiarity with logistics, storage, or moving industries is a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Comfortable with data-driven decision-making and reporting tools (e.g., CRM, Excel, or similar platforms).
What’s In It For You?
Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
Opportunity to build and scale a partnership program from the ground up.
Fast-track growth with a clear path to leadership as the team evolves.
Work with cross-functional teams across Clutter and Iron Mountain’s expansive network.
Health, wellness, and retirement benefits, including PTO and flexible work options.
Reasonably expected salary range: $154,700.00 - $206,300.00
