Job Title: Director of Education & Training 

Reports To:  VP of Clinics

Position Description: The Director of Education and Training manages the development and implementation of Boston O&P’s training and education programs. The Director will oversee the 4 clinical service programs and will work with department leads across the division to ensure the maintenance, continuous improvement, and scalability of all training programs that support patient care within the organization. 

 

This is a remote position with regular travel to our Stoughton Headquarters


Core Responsibilities:  

  1. Program management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the clinical programs, including the management and alignment of program directors, service program teams, and associated standard procedures. Clinical programs include lower limb, spinal, cranial, prosthetic, and residency programs.
  2. Curriculum development: Create and maintain training curriculum. Use outcomes, feedback, and industry research to improve quality of curriculum.
  3. Personnel development: Identify and develop mentors & trainers across all training functions.
  4. Training initiatives: Manage schedules and competency tracking for all employees, including clinicians, clinical assistants, patient care coordinators, central billing team, and fabrication team. 
  5. Resource management: Manage human, financial, and physical resources associated with education & training. 
  6. Communication: Manage communication and feedback. 
  7. Collaboration: Work with cross-division leads and external resources.
  8. Partnership building: Foster partnerships with subject matter experts to enhance skills and knowledge developed through educational opportunities. 
  9. Compliance: Ensure staff has access to educational resources to maintain certification relevant to their role. 
  10. External education: Guide content and strategy development for patient, parent, and referral education.

 

Education/Experience:  

 

A master's degree in education, curriculum development, educational administration, or educational leadership can prepare someone for the management and oversight responsibilities of this role. 

 

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of orthotics and prosthetics.
