Job Description
The Digital Product Excellence team in the office of the CTO in Takeda’s Global Data, Digital, and Technology (GDD&T) function aims to elevate our design, product & innovation practices internally and co-create with external partners to help Takeda become the most trusted, science-driven, digital biopharmaceutical company. We are currently looking for an ideal candidate who will have a keen eye for gaps in patient, HCP and employee-based product opportunities and an innovative mindset for filling them to join our DPX team as a “Senior Digital Product Manager”. The role will have a core focus in launching our Target Digital Product Profile global program.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Product Management Capability Build
- Support the design and implementation of the TDPP operational model, influencing roles & responsibilities definition across various DD&T teams, GPLS, GMA, DSI and BUs
- Manage business development activities for key strategic digital technology partnerships with academic medical centers, incl. coordination across internal teams, advising on scope definition, and communicating key milestones and barriers to leadership
- Identify and manage external partnerships to help support TDPP activities, including consulting and technology partners
- Develop a global digital product strategy to optimize DD&T capabilities and scalability, and act as a liaison between business, technology, and design teams across the enterprise
Product Management
- Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, internal capability and partnership assessment, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
- Has ownership of the product strategy, product design, product development and product launch in close partnership with product teammates and cross-Takeda Value Chain partners (GPLS, Franchise, LOC, etc. depending on type of product)
- Own the vision, marketing, go to market planning and ROI for a particular product in collaboration with defined product teams and business partners.
- Interface with users and be accountable to define the requirements and scope of products to be built.
- Accountable for holistic product vision, delivery, and value realization across products; works with scrum teams to ensure their autonomous, usable pieces of work come together to achieve set objectives.
- Set product strategy and plans consistent with corporate priorities and sets vision and direction for the team.
- Define vision that reflects customer and business needs, balancing long term, overall solution direction and short-term Agile release train (ART) vision.
- Confirm product teams comply with GDD&T architecture standards.
- Has deep knowledge on Takeda digital product portfolios and promotes the concepts of shared platform economy, preferred partners and re-use of products when applicable to maximize speed of product prototyping, testing and reduced cost.
- Promote and support use of global standards, such as the global design system.
Product Delivery
- Manage the product planning fitting in long-term roadmaps and aligned with short-term release plans, influence the prioritization of the product backlog to keep agile teams unblocked and aligned.
- Act as content authority over features and their associated acceptance criteria.
- Participate in planning, system demos, and the inspect and adaption campaign.
- Manage the expectations of business owners and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with Product Engineers, Product Designers on an Ecosystem of Products, Platforms, Analytics and Microservices to give Takeda a modern footprint.
- Be a guiding partner for teams to steward and advocate through the SACA (software asset compliance assessment) process.
Customer Relationship Management
- Communicate how the product is meeting the business priorities and goals of the organizations (business, technology, and marketing).
- Work with partners in R&D, DD&T, and ecosystem to accomplish product goals.
- Identify high priority / critical issues and provide solutions to the stakeholders’ needs.
Key Skills, Abilities, And Competencies
- Experience with digital product management within an agile environment.
- Strong analytical skillset to make data-driven decisions, identify new opportunities for innovation, and drive the strategic direction of the product.
- Strong knowledge of digital health products preferred with experience in digital health product deployment within clinical workflows also preferred.
- High effectiveness in developing and managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in design thinking and human-centric approach to identify issues and provide recommended solutions to resolve.
- Be relentlessly curious, seeking to understand people-experience, process, technology. Leverage a strong sense of curiosity to develop deep insights and deliver powerful digital products and experiences.
- Self-starter – needs to be eager to learn about new and existing projects and run with them.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen while documenting solid requirements and managing scopes.
- Skills at developing business cases, ROI analysis, and value propositions.
- Ability to influence and persuade on the value of the product management capability for the organization.
Education And Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital product management.
- Demonstrated product results in digital product delivery.
- Solid communication skills
- Experience in the healthcare industry or other regulated field a plus.

U.S. Base Salary Range
149,100.00 - 234,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
