This role contributes to Starbucks success by providing the best in lease interpretation, lease enforcement, risk assessment and negotiations to our Real Estate, Facilities, Construction and Operation partners to maximize the profitability of the portfolio. As an advisor, Lease Portfolio Management, you will…

  • Acts as Property Manager and primary point of contact for all existing stores. Maintain full Lease Management life cycle post-execution of all critical requirements in a region of about 500-1000 stores, including rent payments, amendments, agreements, key renewals, contract changes and terminations.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relations with customers, landlords, and other key stakeholders to collaborate on short, intermediate, and long-term real estate initiatives that meet Starbucks objectives and goals.
  • Lead lease interpretation, education, risk assessment and enforcement cross-functionally to support escalated issues and/or influence other partners to resolve complex lease related issues and/or defaults.

We’d Love To Hear From People With

  • 5+ years of experience in property management and lease administration
  • 5+ years administration of commercial real estate contracts or comparable business experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, accounting or finance preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and commitment to high quality work product
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to read, analyze and interpret complex lease terms, ancillary lease documents and business language
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a complex, ambiguous and fast-paced environment bringing cross-functional teams and leaders along, while communicating outcomes and providing recommendations.
  • Ability to identify and articulate risks associated with complex lease related matters
  • Ability to influence without authority vertically and horizontally throughout the organization and with cross-functional teams to gain partnership
  • Strong communication, written and negotiation skills, including drafting and preparation of formal correspondence and notices to Landlords
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
