Job description

Job Overview:

The HR Generalist supports the Companys business objectives by actively participating in and co-managing the development, implementation and assessment of the business and HR-related strategies and initiatives - which intends to encourage collaboration with various and diverse stakeholders and with the intent to attract, engage, motivate, develop, and retain employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment.
  • Involved in the preparation, implementation, evaluation and improvement of the recruitment process, policies and procedures in accordance to the needs of the Company and/or the business unit (BU).
  • Closely collaborate with the hiring managers and other stakeholders to properly define the talent profile(s) needed per position.
  • Co-lead the sourcing, use and management of the relevant online and/or traditional recruitment channels and/or tools.
  • Assess and provide periodic reports on the performance and relevance of the sourcing channels and methodologies used relative to its cost-effectiveness and their effectiveness to provide the required quantity and quality of the talents to be processed.
  • Network via and maintain a database of potential hires sourced through referrals, professional and/or business groups, relevant social media channels and/or through events.
  • Conduct paper screening, phone screening and/or face-to-face interviews to create a shortlist of candidates that are qualified to proceed to the next steps of the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate with and monitor the progress of the talent screening and selection activities with the hiring managers and the candidates.
  • Take the lead in the facilitation and management of the on-boarding requirements of the new hires.
  • Compensation and Benefits.
  • Assist in the setting and implementation of the Compensation & Benefit structure and budget of the Company and/or the BUs by using the approved operational budget & industry benchmarks as references.
  • Co-lead and manage the preparation and submission of the payroll report(s) and the monitoring of the processing and release of the employees compensation and benefits per payroll period.
  • Assist in the processing of applications and required contributions to government- mandated employee benefits.
  • Conduct market research and share feedback to the management and leadership teams on the innovations and trends that will help the Company to benchmark and make competitive its compensation and benefits structure.
  • Involved in the assessment and evaluation of current service providers and provide recommendations and/or improvements to the current employee benefits structure.
  • Talent Management and Development
  • Training and Development.
  • Involved and participates in the development and implementation of the Companys talent development plan - identifying, understanding, and prioritizing development needs and interventions
  • Assist in the facilitation of the functional and technical training of new hires.
  • Involved in the calibration and updating of training modules and assist in the sourcing and selection of relevant training and development partners.
  • Attendance and Timekeeping.
  • Keep track of the employees attendance and adherence to the prescribed timekeeping policies, guidelines, and tools.
  • Prepare, manage, and analyze reports and provide timely feedback, recommendations and/or corrective actions to improve the attendance and/or timekeeping performance of the employee(s).
  • Employee Relations (ER) and Engagement.
  • Assist in the championing of the Companys core values and culture and build rapport with employees to effectively promote and encourage participation in the Companys team building and personnel development programs.
  • Assist the Department lead(s) in monitoring employee performance and provide constructive and actionable recommendations where and when necessary.
  • Monitor employee turnover and recommend and/or implement initiatives to enhance engagement and to improve retention.
  • Handles ER cases for the assigned BU(s) - taking the lead in preparing and serving the required notices, conducting the necessary investigation, facilitation of the administrative hearing and assisting in the resolution of these cases.
  • Involved and participates in the development and implementation of preventive and positive discipline campaigns.

 Conducts periodic employee satisfaction surveys and focused-group discussions to gather insights and suggestions from employees to gather insights and

  • suggestions on how to further improve the Companys employee relations and engagement initiatives.
  • Involved and participates in the development and implementation of employee engagement and health and well-being programs and activities to further improve employee motivation and morale.
  • Performance Management.
  • Be involved in the development and calibration of a skills and competencies matrix which will be used as the benchmark when assessing an applicant for a specific position/role.
  • Be involved in the development of the performance management, assessment and development processes, policies, and guidelines.
  • Assist the Department lead(s) in the proper and timely implementation of the employees periodic performance evaluation:
  • by providing coaching and guidance on the proper use of the employee performance evaluation tools;
  • by providing data and insights relevant to the employees performance;
  • by monitoring the proper documentation of the employees performance evaluation; and
  • by assisting in the analysis of the employee performance data and to provide recommendations that will help improve the employees performance.
    • Business Partnerships.
    • Establish dynamic and collaborative inter/intra-departmental business relationships to ensure the constant and sustained improvement of the Company and the BUs.
    • Understand the rationale and support the organizational and business strategy shifts or adjustments in the areas of organizational restructuring, change management and communication.
    • General Administration
    • Help ensure the Companys adherence to Government-mandated labor regulations and in the preparation and submission of required documents and/or reports.
    • Prepare and present periodic reports and achievement metrics for management, as necessary or as requested.
    • Leads the maintenance of accurate employee records and personal files.
    • Actively participate in ad hoc projects pertaining to HR and/or office-wide issues.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
