Position Summary

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Global Security Incident Response Team (GSIRT) within the Corporate Information Security Division (CISD) located in Reston, VA. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Business Process and Analysis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support cyber defense team planning, refinement, and execution tracking of project and operational deliverables.
  • Support shared service team planning, refinement, and execution tracking of project and operational deliverables.
  • Collaborate across multiple cybersecurity delivery teams, including engineering, operations, and monitoring/response to ensure a coordinated and holistic understanding of the scope and level of effort needed to address cybersecurity stakeholder requests.
  • Participate in the development and revision of workflows/processes (soliciting input, building consensus, documenting standard operating procedures, work instructions, and training material) for new processes and process improvements.
  • Analyze trends in performance indicators to assist GSIRT leadership with managing performance indicators, recommending corrective action, establishing lessons learned, and influencing the improvement of processes.
  • Coordinate with GSIRT leadership and cybersecurity delivery teams to assess the value of potential projects and other efforts.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient meetings to gather information needed to support efforts.
  • Help cybersecurity delivery teams maintain backlogs and analyze upcoming work for resource and schedule needs.  
  • Escalate impediments/blockers and support their mitigation or removal.
  • Help identify and mitigate any external dependency risks.
  • Ensure all status reporting of objectives, deliverables, issues, and updates is clearly and consistently delivered at the working team, management team, and senior leadership.
  • Support integrating the project into the larger program strategic roadmap and the overall Sony GSIRT mission portfolio.
  • Honesty, trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

Qualifications For Position

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of associated work experience as a process engineer or business analyst, working in a cybersecurity or IT organization
  • PMI–Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified SAFe (Scrum Master or Advanced Scrum Master) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) Certifications or Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
  • Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior level management.
  • Strong documentation skills - detailed tracking, metrics-based reporting and roll-ups, etc.
  • Outstanding analytical, process development, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
  • Ability and desire to see it through.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated team player who can effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Proactive at identifying and supporting removing impediments.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $90,000 to $105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
