Position Description
QIAGEN Digital Insights is looking for a bioinformatics leader looking to take our market leading discovery products forward. The role requires a deep scientific understanding of the drug discovery workflows for mechanism of action research, target identification, and target validation in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.
As a subject matter expert, successful candidate will work closely work with our QIAGEN IPA, OmicSoft and Biomedical KB product managers to evolve the vision, capabilities and direction of our discovery omics content and bioinformatics applications. The successful candidate should have a good understanding of the evolving tools, approach and applications in the discovery space, and be able to identify opportunities, prioritize and work with QIAGEN Digital Insights products managers to advance existing products and communications to customers and sales.
Key responsibilities
- Build, confirm and share visions for an integrated offering of bioinformatics tools in biotech and biopharma settings.
- Identify new technology, approaches and scientific needs that can be addressed through bioinformatics software, and advocate for their investment.
- Work with customers using our applications to understand use cases, needs and share with product management teams.
- Identify opportunities for integrated workflows, assist in identifying gaps in solutions and communicating more complete and integrated solutions for solving bioinformatics workflows.
- Create material and use cases to communicate the value of QIAGEN Digital Insight’s bioinformatics offerings to customers and commercial team.
- Present in conferences and customer settings bioinformatics workflows supported by our applications.
Position Requirements
- Ph.D in Biology, Bioinformatics of similar field.
- At least 10 years of commercial bioinformatics experience.
- Essential to have used Omicsoft, and optional for IPA.
- Biotech or pharma industry experience with close collaboration or working within bioinformatics groups supporting biologists.
- Deep understanding of the drug discovery process and how bioinformatics apply.
- Wide experience of using different bioinformatics tools, current and future approaches to deliver bioinformatics insights.
- Collaborated in a team environment to understand scientific needs and opportunities, propose and articulate solutions to address.
