Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an Oracle Database Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/ Transportation Security Administration (TSA) customer. This position is responsible for supporting the Application Support team Oracle Operations and engineering. The Oracle engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Oracle databases.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases
  • Participate in incident management activities for Oracle databases
  • Configuring and maintain successful backups for Oracle databases
  • Participate in designing, developing and maintaining Oracle databases in support of the customer applications, and systems
  • Create database storage structures, design objects, and modify database structures
  • Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, testing, procedures, policies, and standards for Oracle databases
  • Setting up and maintaining Oracle user accounts
  • Involved in implementation of security measures for Oracle databases
  • Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
  • Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
  • Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Oracle databases
  • Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree and 2 years' experience or Associate degree and 4 years' experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 6 years' experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
  • Experience with Oracle database engineering
  • Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interaction
  • Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
  • Ability to work effectivelyand a self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Knowledge of cloud operations
  • Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
