We’re seeking a Head of SEO, with a proven track record in generating substantial SEO impact for B2B brands, to lead our team of SEO strategists. If you are passionate about driving revenue, and supporting the development of your team, we want you!
A Priorities (65% of time): SEO Strategies, KPI Digging & SEO Work Review
Goal: Get big SEO results for our clients, so they get huge ROI from their investment with them and we are hitting their goals.
KPI: 30% QoQ increase of clients’ leading and lagging metrics. E.g. clicks and SQLs.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 4-8 SEO Strategists/Tech Specialists
- Client strategy creation & roadmap reviews / co-creation
- Have a long-term view on where we can take each client and how we can get there.
- Big goal -> Strategy -> Rocks -> Tactics -> Deliverables
- Reviewing SEO work, SEO reporting, QBR support.
- Support team on most nuanced/ambiguous/advanced tactic work.
- Support team in showcasing the why behind the whats. And how we’re delivering value.
- KPI digging / client management
- Why aren’t we getting results? Dig in and analyse clients where we aren’t hitting their goals. Make an action plan to get back on track.
- Improve Skale <> Client relationships - helping clients see the value of Skale’s work while also encouraging more collaboration between teams to improve retention.
- Bi-weekly Meetings with SEO Managers to ensure KPIs are being met and that they are supported in their career development while being challenged.
- Improve Data analysis and reporting on every client across Skale’s portfolio, ensuring full view and understanding of each stage of the funnel from leading to lagging metrics.
- Support difficult client situations (client retention)
B Priorities (20% of time): Processes, Innovation & Team Management
Goal: Everything is being run as a well-oiled-machine & team is upskilled to successfully do their role.
KPI: 80% YoY team retention, and max 1 in 5 people are in-training at a time (to do the role they are currently in).
Key responsibilities:
- Training -> co-create skills matrix and upskill team in all facets. Upskill yourself too (e.g. Reforge courses, artificial intelligence, etc).
- Each SEO Manager gets 1 hour/week technical skills training.
- Ensuring consistent improvement and development in line with SEO manager
- Personal goals and aligning those with the goal of Skale.
- SEO team processes & SOPs. Create, update & review SOPs.
- Support staff with challenging/advanced SEO tasks and aid their development and advancing their knowledge sets to everyone's benefit.
- Innovation -> Search is more than Google (ChatGPT, Perplexity, YouTube, Copilot etc). Help us innovate on our service offering by partnering with Jake.
- Look into tools such as AI and automation to improve Skale efficiency and outputs.
- Facilitating team workshops and monthly meetings to drive collaboration and an innovative SEO environment to improve the team knowledge base.
C Priorities (15% of time): Sales Support & Admin
Goal: n/a
KPI: n/a
- Sales support - help close our biggest identified deals by supporting the pitch process (personally support 1-2 deals / month).
- Replying to Slack, emails, etc.
- General admin (time off requests, company meeting slides, etc)
- Other synchronous meetings
- Employee performance reviews
