Job description

As the  Business Development Manager  you will interface with all levels of the PPG & customer organizations with the objective of increasing PPG sales & profitability to ensure the business's financial objectives are achieved.  An experienced sales or engineering associate with a proven track record of commercializing new business wins in the North American region.  You will be required to have intimate knowledge of coatings & Chemical markets, customers, and specification processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement a plan to grow PPG sales and profitability for new and existing customers.
  • Interface with various customers to promote PPG.
  • Communicate the customer’s needs to the various PPG functions and regions.
  • Mobilizes PPG resources to support customer factories during the launch process.  
  • Fully understand PPG’s product portfolio and benefits to ensure value selling.
  • Understand the competitive landscape, current gaps and anticipate future gaps to improve PPG’s market position.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in business, engineering, or similar or Equivalent combination of experience, training, and industry knowledge.
  • 3-5+ years of b2b sales experience or sales support experience.
  • Experience in the coatings industry with Liquid, Powder & Pretreatment or similar.  
  • Excellent relationship building experience and ability to communicate effectively across cultural and industry barriers.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Travel 50% or more depending on pipeline.
