Our client for the Business Line Manager - Chemicals is a global toll and contract manufacturer, distributor, and logistics provider of chemicals and consumer goods products such as personal care, food, industrial coatings and lubricants, pharma products, and more.
The Business Line Manager will be responsible for overall P&L (profit and loss) for the Fatty Acids product line. This includes sourcing and supplier relationship management with global key suppliers, driving sales and business development efforts and commercial growth and account management in conjunction with the sales and business development teams, working with operations on production capabilities and capacity, and also managing high profile key accounts. This Business Line Manager will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing. This is a 100% remote work from home opportunity, but preferrable candidates will be based in the Midwest, Southeast, or Gulf Coast areas.
Description
- Understand and market the current value proposition of speed and responsiveness to the customers.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences, translating insights into actionable strategies
- Collaborate with operations to identify opportunities for improvement that are essential in building long term growth markets from a manufacturing capability and pricing and profitability standpoint
- Identify new sales opportunities and strategic target customers
- Collaborate with the integration leads from the different functions (Supply Chain, Planning, IT, HR, IT, etc.) to develop detailed integration plans and milestones
- Sales and Strategic planning to ensure profitability and keeping up to date with market trends
- Work closely with the Executive Team to incorporate the integration approach, operational structure and key milestones/metrics
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and targeting new sales opportunities, expanding the customer base, and optimizing pricing strategies
- Develop pricing strategus to optimize margins
- Work with team to enhance new business qualification process for more volume and enhanced turnaround times
- Drive day-to-day execution of the integration process, including coaching cross-functional teams, managing weekly integration team meetings and driving proactive issue resolution
- Attend and contribute to industry events, trade shows and other marketing promotional activities
- Facilitate development of key tracking metrics aligned with transaction value drivers and synergy plan
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering
- 10 years of strategic sales and business development experience within the chemical, additives, food ingredients or related sectors
- Experience with Oleochemicals is highly preferred
- Proven track record of developing and implementing a strategic business development and sales plan
- Experience with toll and contract manufacturing services
- Experience and knowledge of personal care, adhesives, resins, paints and coatings, lubricants, surfactants or related is a must have
- Value based selling approach specifically selling buy vs make
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Strong presentations and communication skills required
- Experience working in a global organization preferred
- Ability to travel 50% domestically
Job Offer
