Job description

Head of Partnership Learning - fully remote role for all EMEA time zones

About Us

The Future Evidence Foundation is revolutionising how the world creates and uses trustworthy knowledge. Through our Covidence platform and innovative approaches to evidence synthesis, we're making research actionable globally.

The Alliance for Living Evidence (Alive)
Launched in 2023, Alive represents a breakthrough in evidence-based decision making via Living Evidence.

Unlike traditional static reviews, our living evidence model:

  • Continuously updates systematic reviews to reflect the latest scientific knowledge
  • Creates dynamic partnerships between evidence producers and decision-makers
  • Delivers real-time, trustworthy data that responds to decision-makers' needs
  • Maintains constantly updated datasets and evidence syntheses

About the Role

The Head of Partnership Learning is responsible for informing our growth and development through the use of data and analyses.

Lead strategic learning for Alive

  • Ensure our work is monitored and evaluated, with data and insights routinely captured and analysed
  • Share what we learn internally, enabling Alive to adapt and improve our partnership approaches
  • Regularly update our ‘playbook’ for Alive partnerships
  • Ensure that our learning processes are robust, documented, and kept up-to-date as our work progresses

Inform strategy development and delivery

  • Incorporate learning to continually refine our strategy and goals.
  • Support our evidence partnerships on strategy and operational planning to ensure they are setting and meeting impact goals.
  • Explore options to scale Alive partnerships, using action learning and adaptive management approaches
  • Ensure learning drives the sustainability of our approach, including the evaluation of cost-sharing approaches

Deliver the evidence needed for advocacy

  • Share learnings from individual partnerships using a range of communication channels
  • Ensure we use what we are learning to shift understanding across and beyond Alive of how to produce, share, and support evidence-use for impact.
  • Helping to position Alive as a leader in evidence synthesis partnerships with a range of audiences, including funders, collaborators, and researchers by writing academic articles, discussion papers, and blogs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is someone who loves to make a difference. Someone who is a self-starter, pitches in, enjoys working with a global team and embodies our values.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of, extensive networks in, and a strong reputation in the evidence for policy and practice arena
  • A proven track record of the use of monitoring, evaluation and learning approaches in the evidence field [sometimes referred to as the ‘science of using science’]
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Highly proactive and effective at prioritising work based on objectives
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to engage and influence people at all levels and from all backgrounds
  • Deep understanding of, and extensive networks within, communities engaged in the synthesis and use of evidence in Africa, Asia, and/or Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Sound knowledge of the methods of evidence synthesis and evidence use in decision-making
  • Deep understanding of the impediments to evidence production and use in underserved settings

Qualifications

  • Extensive research experience, including both the monitoring, evaluation and learning of development initiatives, and the use of research evidence in decision-making
