Responsibilities:
Assesses patients in the emergency room and throughout the house when requested and ensures placement according to their age, identified problems and needs. Acts within the guidelines of LPS Statutes and Patients’ Rights. Provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed. Works within the multidisciplinary team and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and staff.
As you would expect, as a ED Crisis Clinician you are responsible for Providing Psychological consultation, developing safety plans, and working with patients, families, and other teams to determine if a patient needs a higher level of care. Each Clinician is responsible for maintaining clinical medical records.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW issued by the State.
2. LPS certification preferred.
3. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
4. Three (3) years experience in an Inpatient Psychiatric unit preferred.
5. DMH certification required for 5150 detentions.
