Overview:
Independently manages day-to-day work on projects or project components; may manage larger projects with significant support from Senior, Managing, or Principal Consultants. Manages and works on several projects at a time. Conducts a significant amount of project-specific analysis and writing. Assists with new project proposals and marketing efforts. Occasionally represents VEIC and the Consulting Division at national and international forums.
Location:
This is a remote position, and the ideal candidate will be located in the states where VEIC conducts business: CA, CT, DC, DE, HI, IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MT, NJ, NY, PA, OH, RI, VA, VT, AND WI. Please note that while we welcome applicants from many areas, we do not currently hire in the following parts of New York: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island. Compensation:
At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $90,000-$100,000 annually. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities:
- Manages projects promoting cutting-edge energy projects on behalf of clients throughout the country and internationally. This may include:
- Managing on-going client relationships;
- Facilitating meetings of external working groups;
- Managing the work of other VEIC staff and/or subcontractors; and
- Tracking and management of project budgets.
- Designs, reviews, and/or critiques energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and policies.
- Conducts research and performs economic analysis of efficiency measures, programs and policies.
- Assists consulting business development, including sometimes leading proposal preparation.
- Occasionally represents VEIC and the Consulting Division at national and international forums.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
- Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of relevant professional experience, including managing projects & client relationships or a similar combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired. Three or more years’ experience within the efficiency or renewable energy field(s) preferred.

- Skills necessary to develop (and acquire funding for) new consulting projects.
- Knowledge of the characteristics of key energy-efficiency and/or renewable markets and measures.
- Knowledge of good efficiency and/or renewable energy programs and policies.
- Facility with techniques of economic analysis.
- Proven ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
