We are seeking an experienced and driven Analytics Engineering Manager to join our team at EvenUp, where you will lead the Analytics Engineering function. In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling our analytics infrastructure, managing data-driven decision-making processes, and driving company growth through efficient data insights. You’ll lead a team of data engineers and data scientists dedicated to developing a robust ecosystem of data tools, enhancing data pipelines, and setting the standard for data quality. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week spent collaborating with the team in the office. We are open to applicants located in either the Greater Toronto Area or in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What you'll do:

  • Build and lead the Analytics Engineering team, developing the analytics stack, including Business Intelligence (BI), Data Warehouse, and Data Models from the ground up.

  • Integrate user behavior tracking via Customer Data Platforms (CDP) and analytics tools like Amplitude to monitor and understand user actions.

  • Establish and refine company-wide planning processes by implementing clear objectives and key results (OKRs), ensuring that success metrics are well-defined and tracked.

  • Optimize data models to increase the number of actionable insights generated, striving to reduce redundant requests and streamline reporting.

  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to identify and monitor critical business metrics, surfacing opportunities and areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with product & engineering to develop data-driven product

  • Contributing to the innovation engine by establishing frameworks for experimentation and the evaluation of new products

  • Enhance sales efficiency by analyzing customer interactions, improving visibility, and optimizing productivity across the team.

What we look for:

  • 7+ years of industry experience in software engineering, with experience working in a data-focused role.

  • 4+ years of people management experience.

  • Proven experience in analytics, data engineering, or growth-related roles, with a track record of building and managing teams.

  • Expertise in developing and scaling data infrastructures, including BI tools, data warehouses, and data modeling.

  • Proficiency in integrating and utilizing customer behavior tracking tools (e.g., CDPs, Amplitude).

  • Strong experience with lifecycle marketing platforms, optimizing marketing campaigns across various channels.

  • Ability to partner closely with cross-functional teams, including executives, to inform and track critical business metrics.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
