As a Contract Analyst, you will join our team, reporting to our Team Lead, Contracts Administration. Office and hybrid opportunities are available.

As a key member of the Montrose Engineering and Consulting Center of Excellence, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:

  • Contract Intake and Review:

    • Receive and review incoming revenue contract requests from project managers.

    • Analyze contract terms and conditions for completeness and accuracy.

    • Identify and escalate any potential risks or areas requiring clarification.

  • Contract Management System and Analysis:

    • Utilize Workday to efficiently store, track, and manage contracts.

    • Input contract data accurately and maintain detailed records.

    • Monitor projects-at-risk, providing feedback to operations on requirements to convert to billable projects.

    • Monitor contract value relative to revenue recognized, ensuring change orders are obtained in advance to ensure continuity of revenue recognition.

    • Generate reports on contracts as needed. Support management with revenue analysis and investigation.

  • Communication and Liaison:

    • Communicate effectively with internal and external parties regarding contract updates, clarifications, and approvals.

    • Serve as a point of contact for questions related to the revenue contract setup process.

  • Process Efficiency and Improvement:

    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the contract setup process.

    • Assist in developing and implementing new procedures and best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in project accounting, financial management, engineering or construction consulting, or related roles, preferably in a project-based environment.

  • Understanding of accounting principles and practices, including revenue recognition, cost accounting, and project budgeting.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with experience in project accounting modules preferred. Workday experience is an asset.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A strong attention to detail, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Displays a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
