Functional Consultant (doesn't need to tick every box)
Ability to configure NetSuite modules and settings based on business requirements. This includes setting up custom fields, forms, records, workflows, and roles within NetSuite.
Proficiency in analysing business processes and translating them into functional requirements within NetSuite. Understanding of how different modules (e.g., Financials, CRM, Inventory Management) interact and support business operations.
Deep understanding of specific NetSuite modules relevant to the client's industry or business needs, such as Financial Management, Order Management, Inventory Management, CRM, and SuiteCommerce.
Skill in gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders, conducting workshops, and defining use cases to configure NetSuite accordingly.
Ability to train end-users on how to use NetSuite effectively based on their roles and responsibilities. Provide ongoing support to users, addressing their questions and issues related to NetSuite functionality.
While not necessarily performing technical customization, a functional consultant should understand the capabilities and limitations of NetSuite customization features (like SuiteScript and SuiteBuilder) to guide clients and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
Experience in testing configured solutions within NetSuite to ensure they meet business requirements and are free of errors. Conducting user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation before deploying changes to production.
Skill in documenting configurations, business processes, and user guides within NetSuite. Ability to create custom reports and dashboards using SuiteAnalytics for data analysis and decision-making.
Understanding of NetSuite's integration capabilities and limitations. Collaborating with technical teams to ensure integrations with other systems meet business needs.
Assisting project managers in planning and executing NetSuite implementation projects. Coordinating with cross-functional teams (technical consultants, developers, stakeholders) to ensure project milestones are met.
Familiarity with industry best practices and standards relevant to the client's industry (e.g., retail, manufacturing, services). Applying this knowledge to configure NetSuite solutions that align with industry-specific requirements.
Possession of relevant NetSuite certifications (such as Suite Foundation or certifications specific to modules like ERP, CRM, etc.) to demonstrate proficiency in NetSuite functionality and configurations.
