Summary of Job Duties:
The Clinic Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a vital healthcare team member, providing essential support and performing tasks under the supervision of Registered Nurses and performing tasks and duties that do not require a license, professional judgment, or intervention. The PCT directly assists the nurse, PA, physician, and Ortho team with clinic procedures and tasks, surgery scheduling, and associated administrative and clinic duties. The PCT plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of patient care by providing assistance in various clinical settings. The PCT must possess the required competencies and adhere to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures, and standards, as well as guest care guidelines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Successful completion of PCT course within 3 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Patient Care: The PCT must demonstrate proficiency in providing basic patient care
- Patient Safety: The PCT must adhere to established patient safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff members
- Communication: Effective communication skills are essential as the PCT interacts with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
- Documentation: Accurate and timely documentation of all patient-related activities is required, including vital signs, intake/output, and medication administration
- Organization: The PCT must possess strong organizational skills, including maintaining clean and organized work environments and accurately tracking patient supplies.
- Teamwork: Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential, as the PCT supports and assists with patient care needs.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure are essential qualities; Must be able to lift 50lbs. to waist height
