The Role
The Security Protocols Engineering (SPE) team provides guidance and support to the deployment of the security building blocks for device and user authentication, user authorization and secure transport to every single one of the 100’s of millions of Netflix client devices used across the world in the hands of our paying members. This role will lead a diverse group of security engineers and security software engineers. As leader for this team, you will use your strong technical expertise combined with that of the team in the areas of:
Cryptography
Secure transport between clients and services, including network authentication and confidentiality (e.g. TLS), their implementation across various standards, and the various ways they can be attacked and defended
Secure user and device authentication (AuthN) and Authorization (AuthZ) services
Robust foundational security design and solutions
Desired skills and background
Strong communication skills, with an ability to translate detailed technical concepts or business context to those not as closely involved
Experience working on highly cross functional projects, spanning internal and external stakeholders
Experience working directly on consumer products, understanding trade offs between security and user experience
Experience managing and growing a combination of early career and tenured software engineers in a highly dynamic environment
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000.
