IT@JH Enterprise Directory and Messaging is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer who is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing operations of Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives and solutions. Assists in the planning, design, and development of new capabilities and enhancements to existing processes and applications.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Works closely with enterprise IT departments to build data integrations.
- Provides support related to JH identity data and analyze data requirements to offer solutions that streamline processes or solve problems.
- Covers user support when needed.
- Maintenance and support of all IAM processes is a primary responsibility, with opportunities to lead small and large projects.
- High level of independence.
- Major projects are assigned by management, but also expected to identify opportunities to improve existing or implement new solutions.
Specific Devices, Software, Projects
- Responsible for the full identity lifecycle for all JH Identities.
- Applications to develop and maintain these solutions include Microsoft SQL, PowerShell, Microsoft Identity Manager, Azure AD (Active Directory) Connect, School Data Sync, Azure Active Directory, SQL Reporting Services and PowerBI.
Scale/size of Area, Project and/or System Supported
- Responsible for hundreds of thousands active accounts and multiple production Azure tenants.
- Approximately 30 servers support IAM development, stage, and production environments.
- In addition to maintaining JH Identities, the IAM Team is responsible for many data integrations that support JH departments and applications.
On-call Requirements
- Position will participate on an on-call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree.
- Six years related experience. Direct programming experience while pursuing education may count towards related experience. Significant undergraduate programming coursework or independent project can be considered as related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Transact-SQL, writing complex MS SQL Procedures, and SQL Integration Services.
Preferred Qualifications- Ability to design, operate and troubleshoot Identity Management, MS SQL and Azure solutions.
- Ability to develop documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments and clear code.
- Ability to cross-train and expand overall team capabilities for assisting with servicing of requests, responding to issues/problems, and participating in routine operational administration activities.

Starting Salary Range: $85,500 - $149,800 Annually (Commensurate with experience)
