Position Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Location: Remote - LATAM

 

What you will be doing:
As a Senior Systems Administrator, your role will focus on data security and system integrity, emphasizing SOC2 and HIPAA compliance using Drata’s comprehensive compliance platform. You’ll collaborate closely with our systems architect to ensure secure, optimal performance across our infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
  • Compliance & Security: Implement continuous SOC2 and HIPAA compliance, focusing on PHI protection, monitoring, auditing, and security testing. Work within Drata’s platform to maintain and enforce compliance policies and procedures.
  • Data Encryption & Security Protocols: Apply advanced data encryption techniques (e.g., TDE) and access controls to protect data integrity. Maintain and monitor robust database security, with patch management to safeguard against vulnerabilities.
  • Infrastructure Management: Fully oversee Linux server environments, AWS infrastructure, and resources, driving efficiency, security, and cost-effectiveness. Implement infrastructure changes and system updates, collaborating with the Systems Architecture vendor as needed.
  • Database Performance & Availability: Optimize MySQL/MariaDB structures for redundancy, high availability, and optimal performance. Conduct monitoring and proactive troubleshooting to address database and system issues, ensuring 24/7 uptime.
  • Monitoring & Alerts: Establish monitoring systems and alarms to track performance, server alerts, and potential issues in real-time.
  • Web Server Management: Oversee Apache2 and LAMP stack configurations, including load balancing and web server management, to distribute workloads effectively.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years managing Linux servers and database environments, with a strong focus on data security and compliance.
  • Security Expertise: Strong knowledge of database encryption, firewall configuration, key management, and patch management.
  • AWS Proficiency: Experience with AWS infrastructure management, including optimization of resources for performance and cost.
  • Database Management: In-depth knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB redundancy, backup, and high-availability configurations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux systems administration, command-line tools, SSH, and managing Apache2 within the LAMP stack.
  • Compliance Knowledge (preferred): Familiarity with SOC2 and HIPAA compliance requirements, using platforms like Drata to streamline and maintain adherence.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CISSP, CISM, or other relevant certifications.
