Position Overview:
The Contract Specialist is responsible for creating, examining, reviewing, and monitoring a diverse range of contractual agreements. This role requires close interaction with legal, procurement, and management teams within the organization to ensure timely contract preparation, effective problem resolution, and compliance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in contract management, particularly in a healthcare environment and will possess strong organizational skills and a deep understanding of contract compliance.

What You'll Do
  • Contract Creation and Review: Draft, review, redline and negotiate a broad spectrum of simple and complex contracts to align with organizational policies and practices. Conduct thorough examinations of contract terms, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with Legal: Maintain regular communication with the Corporate Counsel and legal team to ensure alignment on contractual terms and conditions. Provide oversight and facilitate legal review processes for contracts, ensuring that all agreements meet organizational and legal standards.
  • 3. Communication and Problem Resolution: Work closely with contract manager and departmental managers to ensure efficient contract preparation and execution. Expedite the review and execution of contracts, addressing any obstacles or delays with a proactive approach. Serve as a liaison for contract-related issues, fostering effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Database Management: Utilize and learn new database-type software programs to track and manage contracts effectively. Ensure that all documentation is organized, updated, and readily accessible for reference.
  • Professionalism and Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of contract management. Exercise sound judgment and initiative while making independent decisions in accordance with established policies.
  •  Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and legal developments affecting contracts, particularly in the healthcare sector. Suggest improvements to existing contract management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • What You'll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field; an advanced legal degree or accreditation as a paralegal is preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in contract management, with a strong understanding of healthcare contracts being highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively while managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with contract management software or database systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build positive relationships within the organization.
